Frequently Asked Questions

How do I restore my purchases?

Open DeadWax and go to Settings → Restore Purchases. This will re-activate any previous premium purchase linked to your Apple ID. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you used originally. If the restore doesn't work, restart the app and try again — or contact us at support@deadwax.app.

How do I report incorrect release data?

DeadWax sources album metadata — titles, track listings, cover artwork, and credits — from external databases including Discogs. If you spot an error, you can report it directly to us at support@deadwax.app with the release name and a description of the issue. We'll investigate and update where possible.

Why is some album metadata missing or different?

Release metadata (artwork, track listings, credits, etc.) is provided by third-party music databases. Coverage varies — especially for rare pressings, limited editions, or regional releases. If something looks off, let us know and we'll do our best to fill the gap.

Is DeadWax affiliated with Discogs?

No. DeadWax is an independent app. We use the Discogs API as one of our data sources to provide rich release information. Discogs is a trademark of Zink Media, Inc. All album metadata and artwork remain the property of their respective rights holders.

How do I contact support?

Email us at support@deadwax.app. For faster resolution, include your iOS version, device model, the DeadWax app version (found in Settings), and a brief description of the issue. Screenshots are always helpful.

Restoring Purchases

If you've previously upgraded to DeadWax Premium, you can restore your purchase at any time — even after switching devices.

  1. Open DeadWax and navigate to Settings.
  2. Tap Restore Purchases.
  3. Sign in with the same Apple ID you used for the original purchase if prompted.
  4. Your premium features will be reactivated immediately.

If you continue to have trouble, email support@deadwax.app and include your Apple ID email so we can investigate.

Reporting a Bug

Found something that doesn't look right? We appreciate the report. When emailing us, please include:

  • Your iOS version and device model (e.g. iOS 19.3, iPhone 17 Pro)
  • The DeadWax app version (found in Settings)
  • A brief description of what went wrong and what you expected
  • Screenshots or screen recordings if possible
  • Steps to reproduce the issue, if you can identify them

Release Data & External Sources

DeadWax enriches your collection with album artwork, track listings, credits, and other metadata sourced from third-party databases — primarily the Discogs community database.

Because this data is community-contributed, coverage and accuracy can vary. Rare pressings, private releases, and regional editions may have incomplete or missing information. We're continually working to improve data quality, and we welcome corrections — just email us with the release details and we'll update things as quickly as we can.
